Intensive courses held at Komaba campus

Several professors offered intensive courses at Komaba campus for about two weeks, starting Dec. 11. The lecturers were Takashi Shimizu, Toshiki Sato, Eiji Sakurai, Tetsuya Sakai, Mareshi Saito and Yoshikazu Shinada, and they held classes about “Contemporary Japan,” “Modern Japan,” and “Traditional Japan”. Fourteen students and four lecturers attended the course from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities at Vietnam National University (VNU) in Hanoi. The students and lecturers were from the Department of Japan Studies within the university’s Faculty of Oriental Studies. Toshikazu Hasegawa, Dean of the Graduate School and College of Arts and Sciences also held a class for this program, and at the end of the course lecturers from VNU Hanoi gave presentations about their academic subjects. Lively discussion took place in every class and presentation.
